The Plan covers you, your spouse, your children and any dependents living with you – all for one low monthly rate. The Family Protection plan provides you and your family with access to over 20,000 plan attorneys and financial professionals who provide free and discounted care for over 1 million families.
PLAN BENEFITS
Free & Discounted Legal Services
You and your family will have access to a nationwide network of over 20,000 plan attorneys that have contracted with Legal Club to provide free and discounted legal services. Upon enrollment, you will be referred to a plan attorney based on geographic location, area of law required, and language preference. Membership includes you, your spouse and any dependents 23 years of age or younger. You may use as many plan attorneys, practicing any area of law, anywhere in the country as often as you like.
Free Service for Personal and Family Related Matters:
- Unlimited phone consultations for each new legal matter (no time limit).
- Unlimited face to face consultations for each new legal matter (no time limit).
- Review of independent legal documents (6 page maximum per document, no limit to the number of new independent documents).
- Plan attorneys will prepare a free simple will for the Member and his or her family, as well as update the will annually for free.
- A web based free living will form is provided to Members. This form can be taken to their plan attorney and completed by the attorney for free.
- Plan attorneys will help Members represent themselves in small claims court.
- Assistance in solving problems with government programs.
- Write letters on the Member’s behalf (one letter per legal matter, with no limit on the number of new legal matters).
- Make phone calls on the Member’s behalf (one phone call per legal matter, with no limit on the number of new legal matters).

These are eight (8) commonly used legal services for which plan attorneys have agreed to charge a one-time, deeply discounted fee.

Guaranteed Low Hourly Rates for Personal and Family Related Matters:
Plan attorneys have contracted to never charge more than $75.00 per hour for personal and family legal care that goes beyond the free and discounted services. After the free letters, calls and consultations take place, you and your attorney will decide what course of action to take next. In many cases, you will have no choice and litigation may ensue. This is the point in time that plan attorneys charge the $75.00 hourly rate for personal and family legal care. That’s right- only $75.00 per hour! The American Bar Association estimates that the national average is upwards of $204.00 per hour for the services of an attorney. Legal Club represents a tremendous savings.
Contingency Fee Discounts for Personal and Family Related Matters:
Attorneys often work on a contingency fee basis on cases such as personal injury and collections. This fee is usually expressed as a percentage of the amount collected or awarded. In some cases, fee maximums are set by state law. Member’s fees will be a 10% reduction of the state maximum rate or the attorney’s usual rate, whichever is lower.
Tax Preparation & Advice
This comprehensive tax program provides you with free tax return preparation and unlimited, toll-free, tax related advice during normal business hours. Additionally, you will have access to deep discounts on most tax schedules.

Identity Theft Restoration & Insurance
You will have 24/7 access to Identity Theft Restoration Advocates who will provide you with comprehensive, personalized recovery services for theft of Member as an individual.
If you become a victim of personal identity theft, the plan administrator assigns a Recovery Advocate to manage the case and activates the Recovery Team (fraud investigators, legal counsel, and other experts) needed to help with the recovery process from beginning to end.

Insurance Coverage:

Personal financial guidance and education is provided via experienced financial counselors.
The financial education program is easily reached via a toll free number. The program provides objective, targeted information to address needs that you face every day, precisely at the time you need assistance.

24-Hour Member Advocate Line
All telephone inquiries from members and eligible family members will be answered directly by our Member Advocate Team, which consists of master’s-level clinicians who have specialized training in phone-based assessment and consultation.
The Member Advocate Team is always available, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Member Advocates receive calls and determine callers’ needs. They provide guidance, personal consultation, and, when appropriate, send personalized resource materials that target your specific needs. Member Advocates also maintain a database of local community resources and will facilitate referrals to these resources as needed.
Member Advocates provide consultation for clinical issues. Even clinical issues, in most cases, can be managed quickly and effectively through personal consultation services. These services include unlimited phone consultations, the development of personal wellness plans, and follow-up contacts to offer ongoing support.
Crisis Management
In an emergency or crisis situation, a Member Advocate responds immediately by stabilizing the member, determining the appropriate level of care, and accessing the necessary managed care services. If you experience a life-threatening emergency, you will be immediately assessed by a licensed Care Manager and have access to appropriate care within one hour of the initial call. If you experience a non-life-threatening emergency, you will be evaluated within six hours.
Goal and Success Planning Consultation
We focus on providing consultation and resource services to assist you and your family in achieving personal success and emotional well-being. This program focuses on providing information and referrals to community resources for a variety of concerns centered on improving your quality of life.
Resource Materials
When appropriate, you will be sent personalized resource material. This includes informative and educational materials that address your stated concerns. The educational materials contain helpful hints, a list of Internet sites for researching additional information, and a list of books that may be of interest to you. Horizon has a library of more than 100 tip sheets and is constantly updating and adding more topics to our extensive database.
Follow Up
Member Advocates follow up with you to ensure the services provided are meeting your needs. The Member Advocate will continue to place follow-up calls to coach you on how to address your identified issues or concerns.
Free Lifetime Membership*
Legal Club is the only Legal Plan provider in the country that offers a paid-up policy provision. After you have paid six (6) years worth of membership fees, you receive Free and Discounted Legal Services free for life. In the event you are survived by your spouse, your spouse will receive the benefits of membership, for free, for the remainder of their life.
Paid Up Provision for Retirees*
If you retire from your place of work and have paid at least three (3) years worth of membership fees, you will receive Free and Discounted Legal Services free for life. If you retire with less than three years worth of payments, you only need to complete the three years and then receive the lifetime membership as well.
At a cost of $168.00 per year, the Family Protection Plan is a benefit your family cannot afford to be without. Credit card customers can schedule three consecutive monthly payments of $56.00.
